Press Release: Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods Honored with A+ Rating from Better Business Bureau

BBB-Accredited, Award-winning Atlanta Home Builder Receives Highest Rating from Nonprofit Organization Dedicated to ‘Fostering Honest and Responsive Relationships Between Businesses and Consumers’

Acadia Design Gallery-1Atlanta, May 21, 2015 – Having been ranked among BUILDER Magazine’s national list of “Next 100” builders earlier this month, as well as having made the top 10 on Atlanta Business Chronicle’s list of Top 20 Home Builders in Atlanta for the past two years, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods is becoming increasingly well-known for its dedication to quality. However, quality is only part of the Atlanta-based builder’s mission to providing an unsurpassed home buying experience. In addition to delivering thoughtfully planned, exquisitely executed townhomes and single-family homes throughout Metro Atlanta, the Acadia Homes’ team is committed to delivering top-notch service to its homebuyers. With just five years on the Atlanta housing scene, the residential builder recently shed its groundbreaking tagline of “A New Builder For A New Time” for the more updated “All About You.” This new slogan serves as an all-encompassing statement that speaks to Acadia’s floorplan designs, home building experiences and customer service – each one geared specifically to the homebuyer. The recent honor of an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) indicates that Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods is right on track in its goal of providing a consumer-focused home buying experience.

The Acadia Homes Design Gallery Serves as a Major Enhancement of the Home Buying Experience“We credit a great deal of our success to one of marketing’s earliest incarnations – word-of-mouth,” explains Sam Bass, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods VP of Sales & Marketing. “When a homebuyer is truly delighted with their new home and the journey that began the moment they set foot inside one of our communities and ended at the closing table, they are bound to tell everyone who will listen. That is particularly the case in this day and age of social media and heightened connectivity. The same holds true for a real estate professional who appreciates the way he or she was treated by the builder and on-site agent, and that – ultimately – their client had a positive experience. They will not only continue to bring clients to our homes, but will also tell others within the tight-knit Atlanta real estate community. It’s not enough to simply provide a beautiful house – everything about the experience has to be the best you have to offer. By hosting regular meetings with the members of our sales team and the recent introduction of an innovative and interactive concept in home design with the opening of Acadia’s Design Gallery, we are continually seeking ways to improve upon an already terrific home buying experience.”

An A+ from the Better Business Bureau is the organization’s highest rating it can bestow on a company. To determine ratings, BBB looks to several factors, including: complaint history, type of business, time in business, transparent business practices, ability to honor BBB commitments – such as answering and resolving complaints, licensing and government actions known to BBB and advertising issues known to BBB. Each factor is tied to a scoring system, and a company that achieves a score of 97 or higher is granted an A+. For more than 100 years, Better Business Bureau has been helping people find businesses, brands and charities they can trust. In 2014, people turned to BBB more than 165 million times for BBB Business Reviews on more than 5.4 million businesses and Charity Reports on 11,000 charities, all available for free at bbb.org.

Acadia Homes Now Building in Four of Atlanta’s “Best Suburbs”

CrowdCityHall - Dustin Grau PhotographyEarlier this month, online real estate brokerage – Movoto – assessed statistics of 56 suburbs throughout Atlanta to narrow it down to the Top 10. In keeping with our tagline “All About You,” award-winning Atlanta new home builder Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods takes special care in selecting the suburbs and in-town communities in which we base our neighborhoods. Based on the fact that we are currently building in FOUR of the suburbs that made the Top Ten – including two that landed the #1 and #2 slots – it would seem that we’re doing a pretty good job! Here is a breakdown of the suburbs listed in the Movoto list of “10 Best Atlanta Suburbs” in which Acadia is building, as well as our communities in each of them:

#1 Alpharetta – Touting key statistics that include a median household income of $79,385 and an unemployment rate of 6.2 percent, in addition to convenience to excellent schools, parks and walking trails, shopping, and dining, Alpharetta is not only a favorite among Movoto agents and bloggers – it’s a favorite among home buyers. Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods is proud to be building here in Woodland Cove and Enclave at Wills Park – both priced from the $500’s.

#2 Roswell – Thanks to high marks for more than 6,000 amenities and a median household income of $79,385, Roswell is a sure bet for the number 2 slot! Add a terrific historic downtown area, an incredible dining scene and access to great parks and the Chattahoochee River, and it’s no wonder why Acadia Homes chose to launch Village on Pine here with homes priced from the high $400’s.

#4 Decatur (tie) – The other two suburbs in the Top Ten where Acadia has a presence are duking it out for the #4 slot. Decatur gains the interest of Movoto, Acadia Homes AND new home buyers thanks to a high school graduation rate of 94% and an average commute time of just 24 minutes. An amazing town square that plays host to a treasure trove of unique boutiques, great restaurants and wonderful events is not to be overlooked.  Acadia is currently building just around the corner at Kirkwood Green, with two new townhome communities on the way: Townsend at Decatur and Townsend at Toco Hills – all priced from the $400’s.

#4 Duluth (tie) – With 3,865 total amenities and an unemployment rate of 7.5%, Duluth holds its own in a tie for #4. An amazing downtown area that features an eclectic collection of shops and restaurants, and draws people in droves to a number of imaginative events at the Town Green such as Flicks on the Bricks, Fridays N Duluth, Summer Stage Concert series and an 8-day art festival called Barefoot in the Park. Acadia Homes is now building in Berkeley Hills Estates – boasting beautiful single family homes priced from the low $300’s.

Acadia Homes Climbs More Than 20 Slots on National List of Up-and-Coming Builders

RiverDistrict_extNeedless to say – as an Atlanta-based builder who just hit the Southern housing scene in 2010 – we are thrilled with the recent news that Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods is listed at #141 on BUILDER Magazine’s “The Next 100”. As a follow-up to the national publication’s list of Top 100 Builders all across the nation, “The Next 100” catalogues America’s up-and-coming builders. In 2014, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods first gained national attention by making the list of rising stars at #165 for 182 total closings over the course of 2013 and annual revenue of $59 million. One year later and we are proud to climb 24 slots up the list for 227 total closings over the course of 2014 and annual revenue of $75 million.

We are equally pleased to be joined by 57 other builders here in the South who also made this year’s list of up-and-comers – 9 of which had not been ranked in years prior. This serves as just another clear indication that the housing market in the South – which had been hit particularly hard during the recession – is making a very healthy comeback. Award-winning Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods is proud to be leading the way here in Georgia.

Listed among our best-selling communities in 2014 were Wellstone in Cumming, Riverbrooke in Suwanee and Sherwood Park in Smyrna. We credit a great deal of last year’s successes to the addition of our new Design Gallery at the beginning of 2014, which served to catapult our home buying experience to new heights by making the choice of interior and exterior design elements totally immersive and imaginatively interactive. With a number of incredible new communities on the horizon, we can hardly wait to see what the remainder of 2015 has in store for our company.

Award-winning Atlanta Home Builder Debuts Fourth Gwinnett County Community

z1336 - New Model Home at Berkeley Hills Estates in Duluth - Acadia HomesAtlanta, May 4, 2015 – Shortly after launching their Cobb County-based residential and construction company in 2010, industry veterans Thomas Olson, Jon Roby and Gregg Goldenberg set their sights on Gwinnett County as a place where they hoped to one day make a lasting impact. That day arrived in 2013 when their company’s first entrée to one of Georgia’s fastest growing counties came with the introduction of The River District in the City of Berkeley Lake, followed shortly thereafter by Del Mar Club in Dacula and Sawyer Farms in Grayson in 2014. First quarter 2015 has already brought the debut of a new Acadia Homes community in Gwinnett with Berkeley Hills Estates in Duluth.

Acadia Homes Unveils its New Model Home at Sterling on the Lake

Acadia Model Homes - Dining Room at Sterling on the LakeAs one of the newest additions to Newland Communities’ sprawling and exciting Sterling on the Lake in Flowery Branch, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods is delighted to show off our own unique brand of Southern Hospitality with the recent debut of our professionally merchandised model home. Representing the 1 ½ story Rabun floorplan, this 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom model home showcases the amazing design talents of Angela Cain of Angela Cain Interiors. The designer used a clean, fresh approach to her color scheme and furniture choices in order to convey a casual lifestyle that is ideally suited for daily living, as well as appealing to the family who loves to entertain.

“Sterling on the Lake is an amazing master-planned development that boasts a resort-like atmosphere,” explained Angela. “At the heart of the community is the 45-acre Lake Sterling, with its scenic charm and recreational allure. The lake played a major role in the inspiration of my design of the model home – from cool blues and warm browns in the color palette to a laid-back attitude that says ‘relax and stay awhile.’ We believed that environment would prove most attractive to the classic Acadia homebuyer – someone with discerning tastes who appreciates luxury and enjoys entertaining guests, but who also values comfort and the functionality of each living space.”

Acadia Homes Model - Loft Space at SOTLThe main level of the Rabun floorplan comprises a sprawling owner’s suite, master bath and walk-in closet. The overall feel is soothing thanks to the designer’s use of soft blues and browns. The gourmet kitchen features a large central island with an eat-in bar that seats four and overlooks the open and airy two-story family room. The furniture has a relaxed, yet traditional feel in order to appeal to a wide variety of tastes. An adjoining covered patio extends the living spaces outdoors. Two secondary bedrooms, a full guest bathroom and a formal dining room complete the first floor of the home. The palette throughout is mainly neutral with bold punches of color used to dramatic effect. A wonderful flex option for this particular floorplan is the ability to convert one of the secondary bedrooms into a sitting room for the owner’s suite – adding to the inviting nature of this space at the end of a long day. Upstairs, a loft space overlooks the family room and leads to a fourth bedroom with full bath for a terrific teen suite or guest retreat. The designer elected to use this area as a project space to illustrate the flexibility of the floorplan.

Located in northeast Georgia, approximately 50 miles from downtown Atlanta, Sterling on the Lake is a dynamic 1,000 acre community that holds a lovely tapestry of tranquil lakes, open greenspace, lush forests and rolling hills. Acadia Homes is proud to be represented in 29 homesites in The Springs at Sterling on the Lake with a choice of five ranch floorplans – including the Rabun floorplan found in our model home. Homes are priced starting from the $300,000’s and boast an extensive number of upscale features such as gourmet kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, open living spaces, expansive owner’s suites with spa-inspired master baths, spacious secondary bedrooms, and more.

Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods Celebrates Earth Day Every Day

georgiapower-earthcentsAs the world prepares to commemorate Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22 – a day dedicated to the promotion of eco-friendly practices, events and awareness – Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods is proud of our standing as an environmentally conscious builder 365 days a year. For many of our communities throughout Metro Atlanta, we actively seek beautiful landscapes, work to preserve green spaces and find locations near parks and access to walking trails before construction even begins. However, in three of our communities, we make environmental friendliness part of the construction process – affording them the honorable distinction of being EarthCents New Home™ Communities.

EarthCents is an extensive series of energy efficiency programs designed by Georgia Power to promote the smart use of energy, protect the environment, and ultimately save their customers money. An EarthCents New Home™ Community benefits homebuyers, as well as the environment.  Effective insulation, high-performance windows, tight construction and tight ducts, efficient heating and cooling equipment, and third party independent testing are all hallmarks of an EarthCents New Home. Our original model was simple – to purchase entire developments or home sites within previously established developments and transform them into communities through smart construction practices, thoughtfully executed floorplans, competitive pricing and – perhaps most important – a focus on providing a positive home buying experience to our customers.”

Comprised of just six neighborhoods at its inception, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods currently has 15 active communities in Cobb, DeKalb, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Hall and Jackson Counties – with five more on the way over the course of the next few months. During 2014, Acadia Homes was recognized by the Sales & Marketing Council of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association with five OBIE Awards for everything from Sales Manager of the Year to Best Interior Merchandising of a Model Home and by the National Association of Home Builders with a National Award for the stunning realization of its unique and interactive Design Gallery. It also placed at #9 of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s list of Top 20 Home Builders in Atlanta. While the Acadia Homes team enjoys the accolades it receives from the media and industry experts, the greatest rewards come from the praise of its home buyers.

“’All About You’ isn’t merely a tagline – it’s our company philosophy,” stated Goldenberg. “Our home buyers are the ones to which we should be most grateful. The first ones took a chance on a relatively unknown builder – they didn’t necessarily know that we had a combined 50 years of experience to back us up, they just knew that they liked what they saw. Since then, it’s been a series of building blocks as word continues to spread about Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods. Most of that buzz is coming from our home buyers, to which we are eternally grateful. In 2015, we are committed to the continual improvement of our product and our customer experience. Those have been the keys to our success over the course of the last five years, and will continue to be so for the next five and beyond.”

In 2015, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods plans to place a larger focus on adding communities inside the perimeter, particularly those that feature the builder’s luxury townhome product.  Outside the perimeter, Acadia intends to return to its roots by presenting its single family home product on a larger scale – with greater square footage and lots of special touches throughout. The Design Gallery – which opened in 2014 – will continue to factor heavily in Acadia’s delivery of a unique and unsurpassed home buying experience, regardless of size and style of home.
