Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods Celebrates Earth Day Every Day

georgiapower-earthcentsAs the world prepares to commemorate Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22 – a day dedicated to the promotion of eco-friendly practices, events and awareness – Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods is proud of our standing as an environmentally conscious builder 365 days a year. For many of our communities throughout Metro Atlanta, we actively seek beautiful landscapes, work to preserve green spaces and find locations near parks and access to walking trails before construction even begins. However, in three of our communities, we make environmental friendliness part of the construction process – affording them the honorable distinction of being EarthCents New Home™ Communities.

EarthCents is an extensive series of energy efficiency programs designed by Georgia Power to promote the smart use of energy, protect the environment, and ultimately save their customers money. An EarthCents New Home™ Community benefits homebuyers, as well as the environment.  Effective insulation, high-performance windows, tight construction and tight ducts, efficient heating and cooling equipment, and third party independent testing are all hallmarks of an EarthCents New Home. These measures ensure that an EarthCents home will be one of the most energy-efficient houses on the market today – far more efficient than one built to standard building codes – saving homeowners a combination of energy and money year after year.

The following Acadia Homes communities boast EarthCents homes:

Kirkwood Green: Now Selling from the $400’s in Historic Kirkwood, Kirkwood Green marks Acadia’s first EarthCents New Home Community. Launched in 2013, this trendy intown community showcases a collection of detached townhomes poised within a park-like setting. Kirkwood Green is also minutes to local world-class restaurants and an eclectic array of shops.

Townsend at Decatur: Priced from the $400’s, this stylish townhome community is coming soon to the Decatur area. Situated near the charming Decatur Square and popular Decatur Farmer’s Market, elegant 3-story townhomes in Townsend at Decatur will feature luxury appointments, sought after 2-car garages, loads of beautiful green space, and convenience to Downtown Atlanta.

Townsend at Toco Hills: Also coming soon to the Decatur area, Townsend at Toco Hills is poised in the highly desirable North Druid Hills community. The epitome of “location, location, location”, Townsend at Toco Hills is situated near the intersection of Lavista Road and North Druid Hills Road – a stone’s throw from Clairmont Road, Emory University and the iconic Toco Hills Shopping Center.

Press Release: Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods Celebrates Five Years as Award-Winning Atlanta New Home Builder

Cobb-Based Residential Construction and Development Company Reflects on the Achievements of 2014 While Looking Ahead to Continued Success in 2015 and Beyond

Acadia Homes Original Dream Team - OlsonGoldenbergBassRobyAtlanta, March 31, 2015 – 2014 was a year filled with achievements and accolades for Atlanta-based homebuilder, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods. Beyond the remarkable growth of its influence throughout Metro Atlanta with the addition of nine new communities throughout the course of 2014, Acadia Homes debuted a highly lauded Design Gallery, added a number of awards to its trophy case, and introduced a sleek new brand image complete with logo, website, and tagline, “All About You.” One quarter into 2015, and Acadia Homes shows no signs of slowing as it celebrates its fifth anniversary as an award-winning Atlanta new homebuilder.

“When Thomas Olson, Jon Roby and I first set out to establish ‘A New Builder For A New Time’ with Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods, there was no way to forecast where we would be today,” said Gregg Goldenberg, company president and CEO. “We launched in 2010, just a couple of years after the bottom fell out of the housing market nationwide. Our original model was simple – to purchase entire developments or home sites within previously established developments and transform them into communities through smart construction practices, thoughtfully executed floorplans, competitive pricing and – perhaps most important – a focus on providing a positive home buying experience to our customers.”

Comprised of just six neighborhoods at its inception, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods currently has 15 active communities in Cobb, DeKalb, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Hall and Jackson Counties – with five more on the way over the course of the next few months. During 2014, Acadia Homes was recognized by the Sales & Marketing Council of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association with five OBIE Awards for everything from Sales Manager of the Year to Best Interior Merchandising of a Model Home and by the National Association of Home Builders with a National Award for the stunning realization of its unique and interactive Design Gallery. It also placed at #9 of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s list of Top 20 Home Builders in Atlanta. While the Acadia Homes team enjoys the accolades it receives from the media and industry experts, the greatest rewards come from the praise of its home buyers.

“’All About You’ isn’t merely a tagline – it’s our company philosophy,” stated Goldenberg. “Our home buyers are the ones to which we should be most grateful. The first ones took a chance on a relatively unknown builder – they didn’t necessarily know that we had a combined 50 years of experience to back us up, they just knew that they liked what they saw. Since then, it’s been a series of building blocks as word continues to spread about Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods. Most of that buzz is coming from our home buyers, to which we are eternally grateful. In 2015, we are committed to the continual improvement of our product and our customer experience. Those have been the keys to our success over the course of the last five years, and will continue to be so for the next five and beyond.”

In 2015, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods plans to place a larger focus on adding communities inside the perimeter, particularly those that feature the builder’s luxury townhome product.  Outside the perimeter, Acadia intends to return to its roots by presenting its single family home product on a larger scale – with greater square footage and lots of special touches throughout. The Design Gallery – which opened in 2014 – will continue to factor heavily in Acadia’s delivery of a unique and unsurpassed home buying experience, regardless of size and style of home.

Grand Opening Planned for Sutton Park to Reveal Professionally Designed Model Home

Sutton Park Living RoomAcadia Homes & Neighborhoods is delighted to introduce its newest townhome community to Atlanta area real estate professionals and prospective home buyers. With the recent completion of Sutton Park’s first building, so follows the exquisite interior design of the model home by award-winning professional merchandiser, Tanaya Morgan Williams of Parlay Interiors. For a combined celebration of the community’s official opening and debut of the model home, Acadia will host a Grand Opening Luncheon on Saturday, March 21st from 1 to 3 p.m.

Open to agents, brokers and home buyers alike, the event will include tours of the model home and lunch, catered by Carrabba’s Italian Grill. The menu will feature a choice of Pollo Rosa Maria or Chicken Marsala, served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes or Penne Pasta with Pomodoro Sauce. Attendees will also have an opportunity to dine on Caesar salad and a selection of Rosa mini desserts. The afternoon will include tours of the new model home and a grand prize drawing for a $1000 gift card.

Sutton Park KitchenFeaturing the 3-story, 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom Chelsea floorplan, handsome brick & HardiePlank® exteriors give a hint to the beauty that lies within. Designed with the working professional and power couples in mind, the interior décor of the model home serves as peaceful home retreat. With a greater emphasis on the upscale gourmet kitchen and luxurious master bath, the designer seeks to inspire prospective home owners to envision themselves living and relaxing in these spaces.

“It was designed to reflect the idea of ‘in town living’ with the conveniences of the suburbs,” explains Williams. “The family and dining rooms were designed with a modern, transitional theme and soothing color schemes with pops of pattern and upscale art to reflect the life of someone who is living off of the fruits of their labor.  My favorite room is the master bedroom.  It is the perfect balance of masculine and feminine energy, and classic yet modern décor.  The décor promotes the grandness of the scale of the room, and is the perfect precursor to the marble master bathroom.”

As for the living spaces themselves, the terrace level of the home includes a flexible living space that could serve as a bedroom, media room, office, or home gym along with a full bath, walk in closets & a two car garage. Oak tread stairs lead to the first floor living areas that boast hardwood floors, gourmet style kitchen, dining room, family room with gas fireplace and deck. Acadia Homes Achieves High Marks for Selection of Elementary School Zones

apple and booksThe quality of local schools is a very important factor in any home search – and not just for parents. While it’s true that most parents want their child(ren) to attend a good school, it’s also a factor for those who DON’T have children – but will want to sell their home at some point in the future. According to a Trulia study in 2013, 63% of adults who live with children indicated that a neighborhood’s school district would be among one of the most important considerations when searching for a home. As a matter of fact, it’s a close fourth to price, size of home, and neighborhood crime statistics in the decision to buy. Press Release: Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods Debuts Two New Communities in Milton

Award-Winning Atlanta New Home Builder Makes Exciting Return to North Fulton City with Hawthorne Manor and Taylor Estates

Spacious and Open Interiors will be one of many Hallmarks of Homes in Taylor EstatesAtlanta, February 19, 2015 – As it continues to grow its influence on the Georgia housing market with the introduction of thoughtfully-inspired and widely varied new communities throughout Metro Atlanta, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods is perhaps most excited about its return to the City of Milton. After receiving a warm reception to its Preserve at North Valley community in 2012, the inventory of executive homes was sold through in just two years. The award-winning new home builder feels confident that the response will be equally enthusiastic to Acadia’s two newest North Fulton communities – Hawthorne Manor and Taylor Estates.

Offering the prestige of a Milton address, the quiet of a suburban lifestyle, access to award-winning schools, and proximity to the world-class shopping and dining of the affluent Alpharetta area, Acadia’s Hawthorne Manor and Taylor Estates are both representative of an intimate enclave of executive homes. Hawthorne Manor – showcasing homes priced from the high $600,000’s – is an exclusive collection of just 12 homes, set back amidst the trees on scenic one acre lots that have been specially sited for each individual home. Boasting estate home designs, Hawthorne Manor features spacious floorplans with 10’ foot ceilings on the main level and luxury appointments throughout. Nearby, Taylor Estates offers eight stunning homes on picturesque one-acre lots – priced from the $500,000’s. Students living in either community will have the opportunity to attend Birmingham Falls Elementary, Northwestern Middle and Milton High Schools – all of which receive extremely high marks from GreatSchools.org.

Preserve at North Valley - Model Home“Homeowners in both communities will enjoy close proximity to Birmingham Highway and GA 400, making workday commutes to bustling Windward Parkway and Downtown Atlanta a relative breeze,” said Sam Bass, VP of Sales & Marketing for Acadia Homes. “They are also convenient to Northpoint Mall, Windward Parkway and the new Avalon shopping district, as well as the quaint antique shops of the charming historic Crabapple district. In addition to being a terrific family-friendly area, the cities of Milton and Alpharetta host wonderful community events. But if you were to ask me what my favorite thing might be about this area, it would have to be the stately equestrian estates and farms that serve as neighbors to Hawthorne Manor and Taylor Estates. There’s a beautiful rural quality here, peppered with mansions and majestic horses. Talk about at scenic route to work!”

Acadia Takes a Cue from the Gas Pumps at Liberty Crossing

As Activity Grows in Braselton, Atlanta New Home Builder Drops Prices in Popular Single Family Community

Liberty Crossing - Top Selling Community in Jackson County - Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods copyIt’s the talk of the town! Gas prices have fallen to levels not witnessed in years. In an effort to illustrate that “All About You” is so much more than a tagline, the folks at Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods are taking a cue from the gas pumps and are dropping the prices at one of their most popular single family new home communities – Liberty Crossing in Jackson County.

“Liberty Crossing has been one of the best selling communities in Jackson County for years,” explains Laura Mahon, Director of Marketing for Acadia Homes. “While we can’t run a flashback pricing promotion of this magnitude in all of our neighborhoods throughout Metro Atlanta, we wanted to launch it in a community where it would have real impact for couples and families – some of whom may be buying a home for the first time. Just as current gas prices are providing relief for countless families throughout the U.S., we wanted to provide a little relief of our own. Add to that the fact that Liberty Crossing already features some terrific inventory ready to sell, and a treasure trove of great home sites for home buyers who wish to build. Those who get in during the earlier stages of construction will have the added benefit of visiting our award-winning Design Gallery to select all of the elements that will make their home uniquely their own – from flooring and paint colors, to countertops and cabinets.”

Liberty Crossing is situated in Braselton – a historic small town with a progressive vision that is at the cusp of incredible growth. Within a few miles of the community, the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton is set to open Spring 2015. The sprawling medical campus will boast a 100 bed hospital that will provide much-needed services to area residents including Heart & Vascular services, Orthopedics & Neurosciences, Cancer treatment, Surgery, Emergency services and more. Already established at the site is Medical Plaza 1, which houses an urgent care center, imaging center, endoscopy suite, outpatient lab and therapy services, and more than 20 physician offices. Braselton is also home to a charming downtown area with a great calendar of events, scoops of ice cream at the Mayfield Dairy Visitor’s Center, a number of major employers – such as Haverty’s and Carter’s, and the renowned Chateau Élan Winery & Resort. It’s location near I-85 makes it easy to hop on the interstate for a straight shot into Downtown Atlanta – with a stop off at the shops and restaurants of Mall of Georgia along the way.

Liberty Crossing has a lot to offer prospective homebuyers. In addition to a stunning array homes from Acadia’s Capitol Collection – exceedingly well-priced from the $190’s – Liberty Crossing also features an amenity center, complete with swimming pool, tennis courts, pavilion and playground. Active residents will appreciate the walking path in the community, as well as the neighborhood’s proximity to Mulberry Riverwalk – a 60-acre park with 7.5 miles of walking trails along the Mulberry River. Two-story single family floorplans in Liberty Crossing include the Albany, the Austin, the Columbia, the Olympia, the Providence,  the Raleigh, the Victoria and the Winchester. All floorplans range in size from 2,420 to 3,200 square feet and consist of 4 to 5 bedrooms and 2.5 to 3 bathrooms. Some homes feature special options such as gourmet kitchens, rocking chair front porches, Jack-and-Jill bathrooms, 3-car garages, options for 5th or 6th bedroom, extra garage storage, and more.
